Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your company located?

We are a Cyprus-registered company with support facilities located in Eastern Europe. We cooperate with our freelancers online, as our employees are from all over the world. More information can be found here.

How can I become a part of your team?

To begin with, you need to send your CV using the application form (Send your CV or Join Us). Write to us via email vacancy@jobsforeditors.com in case of any troubles with the application form or if any questions arise.

Once your resume is sent, recruiting specialists will carefully review its details. If your skills and experience match the position requirements, you'll receive further guidelines for the hiring procedure.

The selection process consists of 2 parts:

  • 1an online test + editing task (in case you apply for a managing editor’s position, a short Skype interview will additionally take place);
  • 2a training course.

If you successfully pass both parts of the selection procedure, you'll be guided further by our support team.

How long does the training course last?

An editor’s training period takes approximately 1 week, while a managing editor’s training can take up to 3 weeks. During this time, editors receive all the necessary training materials as well as pass educational tests. Managing editors also have editing practice - three short sample papers that they are supposed to edit and comment on. The aim of this period is to prepare new editors for work with real orders in our system.

Once the training course is over, freelancers start their probation. This period lasts 1 month for editors and 2 months for managing editors. Editors and managing editors receive full payment for the completed orders on probation.

What is the remuneration for the work done?

Editors receive a certain percentage (5-50%) of the price for each edited order. Moreover, there are monthly bonuses for the quantity and quality of completed orders.

Managing editors also receive payment as a percent of the price for each completed order and, unlike editors, get additional $200 as a monthly payment for managerial responsibilities. They can also receive seasonal bonuses based on the evaluation of their performance and workload.

More information can be found here.

How will I receive my payment?

We have several payment methods to choose from:

  • 1 Prepaid Debit MasterCard, powered by Payoneer. Register an account at Payoneer.com with our company.
  • 2 If you have a Skrill or a PayPal account, provide us with the correct email address so we can transfer your payment straight into that account.

Also, you may be paid upon a request. A request payment button will be available between the 1st and 3rd, or between the 15th and 18th of every month.

Is there any payment provided for the probation period?

During the probation period, our freelancers are fully paid for the work done. Please note that there is an exception for bonuses — they are not paid out within this period. More details about our payment policy can be found here.

What workload is required as a minimum?

An editor’s minimum requirement is to process at least 20 orders per month. Managing editor is expected to have a more regular workload (at least 5 hours per day, 5 days a week, depending on your personal availability) and complete no less than 40 orders during the low season and 80 orders during the high season months.
